never looked at your names till now

the down side of having a name like raveen is that names don't mean anything to me.

all people become nothing... any odd name people undesrsand?

i was called she... you... not my name for most of my life... that made me not care what your name was.... so i don't know people i want to know!!!

just to brief you all who dont know me since im still fairly new, i am darren, i am 24 years old, and i studied with the jws for about a year before i came to my senses.. here is a little "experience" i had a short while ago, 2 or 3 weeks back i thought i would share it all with you.. i just arrvied in new zealand a couple of months ago now, after being in england for so long, i decided to move back here and see my parents.. i was getting over the whole "indoctrination" process and things were looking good!

aside from the time i spent with jws, i only ever spoke to them once, i was about 12 and they dropped a magazine off at my parents house from which i thanked them since my parents were not home, closed the door, casually threw the magazine in the bin and carried on doing whatever i was doing.. after all these years of not seeing them or knowing anythign about them etc, i did my study in the uk and left that and i am now here.. so i had much more of understanding about jws etc.. my parents and i decided to drive to rotorua from new plymouth for a family drive and quality bonding time :) on the way there, about half way through, we decided to stop on a lay by and there was like a patch of grass no longer than a strip of about 15 metres with 2 benches.. we had a little mini(ish) picnic there and coffee before continuing our road trip.. i forgot to mention that as we pulled up to stop there, there was a car at the first bench and a group inside and a few people outside.. i didnt think abything of it, i actually thought they must have been some family doing what we were doing, a road trip, since there were not even any houses near by, it was all lovely views of mountains/hillsides etc.. anyway, we sit down at this bench about 5 or 6 metres away from them, and one raises there voice and says "hi there!

" so my dad responds hey!.

Hi, I'm in NZ too.

What are the chances of that happening huh? kinda funny really..in a sad sort of way. Your dad sounds like a bit of a smart ass...I like it....

Raveen huh?....I kinda like it.

My name is Tessa....I gotta tell you....if theres one thing I don't want to hear any more it's..."I've got a dog called Tessa" (usually a labrador)...or try going to the beach and hearing....Tessa...Tessa...here girl.....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...woops.. hee hee hee

hi- i just wanted to say that i have been checking the website out for a few weeks and have read some horror stories and some sad ones.

but i have been studying with witnessess for about six months and can't help but feel that they're completely sincere and maybe even, the true religion.

i love the watchtower and awake and to me, none of that seems crazy.

Hi Penelope, Welcome....

Like yourself I studied with the witnessess, however unlike you I was not onto them as quickly, because I studied on and off for about 10 years and was nearly baptised.

My only advise to you would be to continue reading information about the Watchtower society and their history.. Its not pretty. They will try to defend against what you discover but in the end you will discover soooo much you won't even want to talk about it with them any more. Because you will realise that all you are hearing are excuses and rubbish. What I found interesting was that often what I discovered about Watchtower history they honestly were not even aware of.....but they certainly didn't want to hear about it either..In the end their only reply was "well if we're not in the Truth....who is?". My answer to that now is "No Religion" has the truth. They are ALL self serving.

I still have my faith, but now I chose to look for myself and make up my own mind. Took a little while for me to find my feet, but now....I'M OFF!!!

I also had some strange experiences years ago...(the unexplained kind, but not UFO)...but to be honest I no longer choose to discuss them on this board because strong feelings for and against can make this topic extremely unpleasant on here. Personally I struggle with people who have opinions on this that havent experienced it but think they know better. Or people that try to brush it off as just some unexplained event that given time, science will be able to give us the answers to....so I no longer discuss it here at all. But of course, thats just how I feel.

Jehova's witness and the contradictions of modern science question mark!

i grew up as a jehova's witness but drew apart in my early teens.

i'm in my late 20's now and i am wondering if any of you more experienced jehova's witnesses or ex-jehova's witnesses can say anything about the organizations belief or where they may contradict in relations to modern astrophysics and/or physics.

is it simply a game where the more science is discovered the more jehova's witness's beliefs bends to fit the mold?

this is a partial video of the morning breakfast table in brooklyn bethel in the late 80s, with lyman swingle hosting... the governing body member who at first tried to shelter ray franz from disfellowshipping, but then within a year or two his spirit was broken and he was a bitter man.. randy (i was there and it was death-dealing, like the death eaters from harry potter!).
